Opportunity Snapshot

"Entrepreneurial culture that favors agility over bureaucracy and an empowering environment where you can leverage both your hands-on technical sales savvy as well as your sales leadership track record to earn big. . . " If this describes your dream job, it's time you said hello to Parallel Technologies!

We are launching a new business unit around our Cisco collaboration solution and are seeking a sales leader extraordinaire who can help us define this new practice area and shape the vision of our "go-to" market product offerings. You will also serve as a SME to other Account Representatives on the team as you help them close their deals and also leverage your "hunter" mentality to unlock the potential of this innovative product line as you aggressively drive new business.

To be a good fit for this opportunity you will have solid Cisco call manager and/or other call solutions/networking background. Of course, as in any sales leadership role, you will lead by example, instilling confidence and credibility in your expertise. Our fast pace and dynamic environment will also require you to remain adaptable and not only manage change, but embrace it with open arms as you continually raise the performance bar for yourself and the team.

Parallel Technologies is a leading provider of network services and solutions to Global 3000 companies for over 25 years. We help clients enable Integrated Communications by providing the right voice, data and video solutions along with our cable infrastructure services. While we're poised for big growth, we've maintained the thirst to learn, the compulsion to innovate, and the bias for action of a smaller company. Our leadership is committed to creating a culture of excellence where it's exciting, fun and rewarding to come to work--intellectually as well as financially.

What Else You'll Bring to the Table

In addition to the qualifications detailed above, you will need:

What's in It for You

More About Your Role

You will report directly to the President as you join us at our Minneapolis office. While this is an individual contributor role, you will serve as a sales leadership resource for the four Account Representatives on the team.

We have a variety of marketing campaigns underway to help generate leads, but you won't be afraid to pick up the phone and come up with leads on your own; relationships drive our business, and you'll work your established network contacts among other strategies. Your primary focus is new account acquisition--both, closing your own accounts and helping the Account Reps close their deals, but once the deal is done, you will transition the account back to the respective Account Rep.

In a nutshell, you'll spend about 50% of your time out in the field, driving new business; and the remaining 50% at the office providing strategic direction and leadership to define and develop the practice. As you can imagine, this is a hit the ground running position and we'll expect you to accomplish the following goals within the first six months:

Keys to Success

Technical sales horsepower, relentless drive and an affable leadership style that can work with a younger sales team and across diverse personality types will serve you well in this role, but it will be your relationship building skills that will push you over the top.

Towards that end, you'll go beyond the deal-maker mind set as you leverage your interpersonal finesse to forge strong working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

Of course, as in any lean operation, you will unleash your entrepreneurial spirit as you flex both your strategic and tactical skills to envision our "big picture" objectives for the new practice and also independently execute on those goals while remaining flexible and adjusting to the evolving needs of the business.

If this sounds like the right mix of challenge and opportunity for you, and you meet the minimum qualifications, we want to hear from you!
